Hi there everyone, this is Dan and I’m the DC in DC Lane.
One of the reasons why I absolutely love what I do running our business is because no two days are the same in estate agency … throughout my whole career lots of fun, fascinating and sometimes crazy things have happened so I thought it might be interesting to share some of these experiences with you on a regular basis
So this is the first instalment of the DC Diary
This week it was definitely all going on in Plymouth, it’s not often in our office that ‘Plymouth’ and ‘Unexploded WW2 Bomb’ get a mention but that’s exactly what happened as you may have seen on the national news
One of our team members lives a street away from the bomb, so it had a huge impact on them. Thankfully the emergency services dealt with it amazingly. Hats off to those brave people who worked so closely to the bomb – that must have taken some real courage
But yes, it was a complete evacuation of 10,000 people and an absolutely major thing to happen in Plymouth, something you just would never anticipate. So, looking at this it made us think ‘what would you do when you can’t access your home?’ – do you have friends and family that you could go to if you had to leave without any notice? These are real questions that we’ve been asking ourselves in the office and around the city because obviously it’s not something you think you’re ever going to be faced with, but it could happen – Sometimes a home is not just something you’re buying or renting, it’s somewhere you need for the night, sometimes in unexpected circumstances – and so I guess it just makes us all a little bit more grateful for the homes that we do have and certainly thankful that everyone could return back to their beloved places after this major evacuation
So there we are, that’s pretty much what happened this week – I can’t promise that my next instalment will be as high octane, but we’ll see. You never know what’s around the corner in life!
Let me know if you like this kind of thing and I hope you look forward to the next instalment of the DCD soon
